Artist History: I was lucky enough to learn my craft from five different mentors all the while, I was being paid. My first job at the tender age of 17, has become my life's focus, and continues to be a great adventure, Eventually, I attended Westminster College and the University of Utah, where I earned a Bachelor's of Fine Art, in painting and drawing. I taught Art at PCHS for nine years, I created both the ceramic department and the jewelry department, which were not existing at the time. I have taught adult jewelry classes through both the Kimball Art Center and Park City School District. I left that job to raise my son and to pursue my own Art. For the last five years I have also been pursuing my oil painting and was awarded a commission for the city of Park City. My painting of 929 Park Ave, hangs on the wall at the Marsac City Hall, which is where I attended elementary school. I have shown my jewelry across the west; Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, and Utah. I have been in the Park City Art Fest now for 20 years. I currently sell my jewelry at RSB Designs, 1101 Park Ave., Park City, Utah.
I am inspired to create jewelry that is a part of me, colorful, textural, made to last, everyday wearable, makes a statement, is fun to wear and possibly has a story behind it.
My work as a silver/gold smith, began as a summer job in 1973 and now some 40 years later has become not only my passion but my serious artistic pursuit. My studio in my house is cozy, sunlit, filled with a collection of a life devoted to my craft, and my sanctuary, where I get to design and create jewelry! What could be better?
